Milfoil Contributes to Swimmer's Death in Washington State

July 29, 2010 -- KEPR Action News has confirmed the death of the boy pulled from the water at Wade Park Tuesday afternoon. We also learned his name is Cameron Hartwell.

Cameron was going to be a fifth grader at Mark Twain Elementary next year. The Pasco School District sent out a press release about him, expressing condolences. Read the full story to get the details.

"As Action News gathered new information Wednesday, we wanted to look into the dangers of milfoil. The underwater weed was something officials at the scene mentioned as a possible culprit for the boy’s disappearance into the water."
